4s tournaments have been running a long time through a few different organizers, and now I am accepting the responsibility to run them. If you have been playing in these tournaments in the past you should not notice much of a change.
Warning: It is recommended to as a minimum have experience playing in other coed tournaments such as WCVL or SmashQuest, as teams ref each other and the format is quite demanding. These tournaments are not a great way to introduce yourself to coed unless you are already high level in regular volleyball (College, University etc.), as most players need some time to adjust to the format.
Details
Format
- Indoor
- All WCVL Rules apply (guys hit back row, 2 guys can't double block a girl, girl’s height net etc.). If unfamiliar, there are more details available. Standard WCVL Rules
- 4 players a side. Minimum of 2 women on court at all times. Minimum of 1 male on court at all times.
- No open hand tipping at all; players don't need to rotate positions, just service order (must alternate gender); no screening on serve; when setting over the net, the path of the ball must be perpendicular to the line of the shoulders
General
- All players must be over 18
- Teams will be assigned reffing duties
- Round robin plus playoffs
- No prizes, just for the love of the game
- Maximum of 8 teams
- Game balls are provided but it is recommended to bring your own for warm up
Price
- $120 per team. Any extra will be used to subsidize future tournaments that either have more expensive gyms or fewer teams.

Time
- The venue is booked from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, Saturday February 28th. Expect games to start at 10:30 and for the day to finish around 6:00.

- Use the web forms on the website, each player on the roster needs to fill out the form. Team captains will be provided e-transfer details for the $120 entry fee.
- Insurance, as well as the permit requires us to collect additional information about the rosters. These will need to be provided for registration

No caps. Standard warmup (4 minutes hitting, 1 minute serving)
